Do we like this new look?
Everybody's doing this re-formatting lately so I've succumbed to peer pressure. Plus I was really getting annoyed with the pages long posts with 2 inch margins - what a waste of space and my mouse wheel is on the fritz so that makes the narrow format even more frustrating.
I also found out that my former header image had been copyrighted since I first got ahold of it. Sad to see that one go, but now you get some Ernst Haeckel. Who doesn't love them some Ernst Haeckel I ask you.

I love the header, and the gray is a nice color, and easy to read. I like the sidebar text colors, too. But it's so strange having everyone change at once! It's like waking up in a new world! I've got culture shock! ;)
I can read the long, narrow posts a lot faster, but that's not much of a thing!
Really? You can read them faster? I struggle with the long-narrows because my mouse wheel tends to jump when I'm scrolling and I have to go back and find my place again. I also have a problem with skipping lines so the fewer times I need to do that in a single sitting the better.
I know what you mean about everyone changing at once. This blog community is like a school of fish.

Am I to blame for the changing everyone is doing? DrDrA liked the changes I made on my blog (seriously who couldn't love that header!:)) and its seems from her, it has spread like wildfire.
Very nice new template, and I like the header image probably better than the other one (although both are cool). I haven't changed mine because I like the colors, but I agree that the narrow posts are kind of annoying.
I like the header, even though I would move the text above the pictures to see better.
Hmm... you're color scheme seems awfully familiar... haha
Eugenie - how do I move the text? I really hate the position of it but it won't let me change it on the user interface...and I suck at html so I'm scared of trying to do it and royally fucking it up.
Any hints?
go under *Header-wrapper{ } and find the line " text-align:"
you can play with that to see if that works or create a larger space above the image... (tweak margins and paddings)
Love the header, don't particularly like that all of your text is all the way over to the left of my screen now instead of centered. But I hate change as a rule, so I'll get used to it. ;)

The reading part is because I kind of speed read (kinda), so I read straight down, and can only do that when columns aren't too wide. Also I use a trackpad, maybe that works better than a mouse for some things (I'm not very used to mouses).
I like it. But gotta somehow make the title stand out...it kinda gets lost in the picture... I'm not sure how to accomplish this though...

drdrA - thanks for stopping by! Yeah, the text over image is real problem...I'm going to try to fuss with it in html a la eugenie and if that doesn't work I'll whip something up in Illustrator and just use that to replace the header all together. Still a work in progress.

Snazzy! Though the your font is playing a little bit of hide-go-seek at the moment. I'm sure it's just some crucial test to assess whether we are indeed smart enough to be worthy of reading your blog.
I do like it, it is easy on the eyes; but now I am wanting to change mine! Power of suggestion!
